2.1 Add Explicit Opt-In to Your Forms
South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires nonprofits to collect and store personal information lawfully. That includes donor names and emails.
Every donation page or form should include:
“By donating, I consent to the storage and processing of my personal information for donor communications and reporting in accordance with POPIA.”
Use a checkbox or affirmative consent (not just implied action). Store the consent log in Supabase if needed.
